Case Study: Kid Scouts Website

blog case study kid scouts non profit website

We have been busy as bees working on a hive of new projects, one of which is the redesign of the Kid Scout’s website. We previously worked with Jessica before on another site and when she needed to upgrade another site she came to us. We’re excited to show off their new website and walk you through the process of this redesign project.

About Client

Kid Scouts, a global non profit organization with over 20 locations, fights hunger by planting seeds, growing plants, creating pollinator gardens, packaging nutritious casseroles and distributing them to those that are hungry. They raise funds and promote awareness to instill hope in humankind and make a difference in the world. Through advocacy work and community service, Kid Scouts work each day with the same goals in mind: to raise awareness, educate and empower current and future generations.

Goal of Project

Jessica came to us to add some ‘buzz’ to the Kid Scouts website. Their previous site was lacking the extra polish to be a truly effective tool and wasn’t mobile friendly. As with most non profit getting donations is their lifeline to continue their mission. So driving people to donate and volunteer was the ultimate goal of this redesign project.

Design & Results

Driven to make this site donor and volunteer friendly, users are greeted with a clear mission right away on the home page – help end hunger. Moreover, prominent call-to-action areas are available throughout the site; specifically in the header with bright buttons, so they’re accessible from every page.

Our new website layout welcomes kids and families with bright imagery, a clear hierarchy and real-life photos to convey Kid Scout’s passion for their cause. The site features:

  • Donation forms integrated with PayPal
  • Photo gallery
  • Interactive locations map
  • Newsletter integration and sign-up form
  • Contact form
  • Responsive layout
  • Sticky header
  • Social media integration
  • News blog

The end result is a modern and energetic design that’s as sweet as honey and will move people to get involved – this makes their new website buzz-worthy in our books.
