We previously worked with Mike on redesigning the website for the Florida FFA Foundation. This time we tackled their Leadership Training Center’s redesign. We had a wonderful time working on this project and we’re excited to share our design process with you! First, let’s read a little about our client, Florida FFA.
About Client
The Florida FFA Leadership Training Center is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Pierce in Haines City, Florida. It is owned and operated by the Florida FFA Foundation, Inc. for the purpose of providing financial support and services to the Florida FFA chapters. The Leadership Training Center provides a natural environment for retreats, lodging, events and meetings. Moreover, staff can arrange a variety of activities including golf, canoeing, volleyball, hiking, camping, shooting sporting clays, paintball and swimming in the pool.
Goal of Project
Michael R. is the Executive Director of the Florida FFA and approached us to redesign this website too. The existing site was a bit outdated and not the most user-friendly. The design didn’t capture the warmth and the ‘natural environment’ of the center. We were brought on to give the site a ‘facelift’ and modernize the layout, such as making it respond nicely to any sized smartphone or tablet.
Design & Results
Now it was time for us to go to work and create a new website based on the client’s goals. The new website is relaxing and invites the visitor in with the breathtaking lake and center photos combined with warm, soft colors. A soon as you land on the home page you know exactly what the conference center offers and why it’s the perfect event and meeting retreat in Florida. We built the website on the WordPress platform, for easy updating by the staff. The site is even mobile-friendly too!

- Above the fold features breathtaking imagery with fixed text stating, “Retreats. Events. Meetings.” This immediately lets the visitor know that LTC can handle any type of event, company function or lodging for their guests.
- The home page features the most important information to let visitors know what LTC can offer in way of space/lodge accommodations and types of amenities (canoeing, golfing,etc.) that guests can enjoy.
- Each inner page features a prominent call to action drawing visitors to book now, leading them to an online booking form.
- All areas of the site are broken into easy to find and digest sections. Each page is filled with large, high-quality photographs – it’s almost as if you’re transported there!
